Teachers are not the only addition to the Falcon faculty this year. Among the additional staff is Timothy Hollis, the new director of security. Prior to joining the security team at Foothills, Hollis ran a private security company in Tucson, often times working alongside the Tucson Police Department and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department on a daily basis.
Working in private security, Hollis experienced all kinds of situations, the most memorable being the time when he found “a fugitive in a hotel…and working with the [Tucson Police Department] S.W.A.T. team.” How many people can say they have done that?
Outside of private security, Hollis coached volleyball at Esperero Canyon and directed their musical as well. He heard about an opening on the Foothills security staff while working at Espero, and jumped at the opportunity. Even though school has only been in session for a few weeks, Hollis wishes to get to know the students better, as well as finding an “easier way for parking,” which has always been an issue here at Foothills.
An avid football fan, Hollis is especially looking forward to the beginning of football season, in particular the Homecoming game against Sahuaro High School as he was a former football player for them. You can bet he will be at that game.
