Theatre students from both acting and technical classes traveled to Phoenix for Thescon, an annual theatre festival, this past November 17th and 18th. To take part in the state festival, students had to audition for various events, such as monologues, group musicals, and one acts. Students not only had the option to compete in events; but also in a wide variety of workshops by experienced professionals. Different workshops included improv games, playwriting, musical theatre, costuming, stage rigging, and much more. Once students arrived at the Phoenix Convention Center, they could audition for scholarships, meet with university officials, and watch other high school performances. Apart from meeting with other theatre aficionados, actors and techies alike were immersed in two days of education and constant participation in the above mentioned events.

    A one act performance of Check Please by Jonathan Rand, directed by Caia Ross and Miriam Arden, also traveled to Thescon. Here is the list of students who were involved:
